Murder of a GAA Chairman (2023)

Motion Graphics

Murder of a GAA Chairman is available on RTÉ Player.

Lloyd Edgar designed and animated the motion graphics for Murder of a GAA Chairman, an investigative documentary that won Best Factual Single at the RTS Awards Ireland 2024. Directed by Trevor Birney and produced by Fine Point Films for RTÉ One, the documentary examines the 1997 murder of Sean Brown — chairman of Bellaghy Wolfe Tones GAA Club — and his family's three-decade campaign for justice.

As an investigative documentary covering a complex multi-suspect case spanning decades, the film required substantial motion graphics support: animated timelines of the investigation, infographic visualisations of the 25+ identified suspects (including state agents), and on-screen text treatments for evidence, dates and legal milestones — all designed to support narrative clarity without distracting from the family's emotional testimony.

The film premiered on RTÉ One on 22 April 2024 at 9.35pm.
