Award-winning Videographer in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Lloyd Edgar is a Belfast videographer who produces award-winning, cinematic, broadcast quality brand films for businesses, councils, cultural institutions and agencies across Belfast, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK. Drawing on his directorial work for BBC One, Channel 4, Channel 5, RTÉ and TG4, Lloyd applies broadcast documentary techniques to commercial storytelling — producing films that don't just promote a brand but define how it is perceived.
Don't just tell them what you do. Show them why it matters.
Bespoke, broadcast-tier brand films turn your company’s mission into a lasting emotional connection and lifelong customer loyalty.
I have the best clients…
When I’m not directing documentaries for the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5, I’m working with the biggest brands in the world delivering broadcast quality video production.
What is a Brand Film?
Standard social media ads tell customers what you sell. They’re built for the daily feed - fast, fleeting and transactional.
A Brand Film tells customers why you exist.
Using the same documentary storytelling techniques I apply when directing for BBC One, Channel 4, Channel 5 and RTÉ, I am a Belfast videographer who creates cinematic films that define how your business is perceived. They establish tone, signal quality and become the foundation that every future campaign, advert and social asset builds upon.
For many new customers, this will be their first touchpoint with your company. In just a few minutes, it can build trust, authority and emotional connection - shaping how they interpret everything that follows.
Consider the annual Christmas campaigns from John Lewis. They aren’t just adverts; they’re emotional assets that help define the brand itself.
That is the role of a Brand Film: to clarify your purpose, anchor your prestige and leave a lasting impression long after the screen goes dark
Featured Work: Henderson: Christmas Campaign
The Brief: Genesis brought me onto Henderson's Christmas campaign — the busiest and most scrutinised slot in a retail year — fronted by Emer Maguire. Genesis owned the campaign strategy and Darren Lyttle directed.
The Approach: Every film production element on the campaign was mine, end to end: planning and prep, shooting, lighting and sound recording on the day, then the whole of post — edit, mix, master, grade and delivery.
For an agency, that means one point of contact from the recce to the final file, and none of the handover gaps between a shooting crew, an edit house and a grade suite where schedules and budgets usually go missing.
The Result: A finished Christmas campaign delivered to an agency schedule, with the entire production side consolidated into a single supplier.
Client: Genesis / Henderson
Year: 2026
Format: Christmas Marketing Campaign
Talent: Emer Maguire
Lloyd's role: Camera operation, lighting, post-production services
Featured Work: Northern Ireland Electric - Big Network Rebuild
The Brief: The Big Network Rebuild is infrastructure work happening across Northern Ireland, and the campaign had to convey both the scale of it and the people carrying it out. Filming ran through 2025 and 2026 across multiple live sites.
The Approach: This was a shoot built around constraints. Filming near live electrical infrastructure means working to site safety rules, PPE and restricted access — there's no moving a light because the frame would be nicer. You work with what the site allows, and you plan for it.
The people on camera were engineers, not actors. I used the observational technique I bring from broadcast documentary to get them talking naturally rather than performing to a lens.
Aerials were central. Showing the scale of a rebuild spread across a whole country is a job for a drone, and I flew it myself alongside the ground unit — one person covering both, on sites where every extra body is another approval.
The Result: A campaign shot across multiple sites and two years, with Genesis and NIE rebooking across the full run.
Client: Genesis / Northern Ireland Screen
Year: 2025 - 2026
Format: Awareness Campaign
Lloyd's role: Camera operation, lighting, post-production services
Featured Work: Northern Ireland Screen Recruitment Campaign
The Brief: Northern Ireland Screen needed to bring new people into the local screen industry — and the most persuasive argument for a career in film and television is the people already making one. The campaign was built around three working studios: Fine Point Films, Two Cities TV and Dog Ears.
The Approach: Three films, shot across the three companies, each profiling the work as it actually happens rather than staging a tidy version of it.
Being a working filmmaker on a set full of working filmmakers helps more than it sounds: I know what's worth pointing a camera at in a grading suite or an edit room, and how to shoot a live production without becoming the reason it slows down.
All three were cut to a consistent look so they read as one campaign wherever they appear.
The Result: Three films delivered for Northern Ireland Screen's social channels, built to a single campaign look across the set.
Client: Genesis / Northern Ireland Screen
Year: 2026
Format: Recruitment videos
Featuring: Fine Point Films, Two Cities TV, Dog Ears
Lloyd's role: Camera operation, lighting, post-production services

Common Questions About Commercial Video Production
Are you insured? Yes. I carry public liability insurance and I'm happy to send certificates across before a booking is confirmed. For aerial work I fly within CAA rules and hold the relevant drone qualification. check exact licence + cover wording before publishing
How quickly can you turn work around? Next week by default on most projects, and next-day delivery is available where a campaign needs it. If you're up against a deadline that sounds impossible, ask — it often isn't.
Do you work as a one-person crew, or bring a team? One-person crew by default. It's faster, cheaper, and far less disruptive on a client site — which matters most on live premises where a full crew is a problem in itself. When a job needs more people, I bring in a network of freelancers I've worked with for years.
Do you work with agencies as a subcontractor? Regularly, and happily. Much of my commercial work is delivered for agencies — Genesis among them — on campaigns for Henderson, NIE and Northern Ireland Screen. I'm comfortable working to someone else's creative direction and campaign strategy, and I don't need to put my name on the front of it.
What does it cost? It depends on the shoot, but as a guide: editing runs £350–£600 per day and drone work £400–£700. For a full production — shoot through to delivery — send me an outline and I'll quote properly rather than guess.
Can you shoot to broadcast standard? It's the standard I work to by default. I direct and shoot documentaries for BBC One, Channel 4, Channel 5, RTÉ and TG4, and the same kit and the same craft come with me onto commercial jobs.
