US Coffee Championships - Event Motion Graphics
Client: US Coffee Championships
Year: 2019
Format: Event Motion Graphics
The Mission: A national competition needs to read like a sport. The brief was to give the US Coffee Championships a full broadcast-style graphics package — one that worked for the audience in the room and the audience watching the stream, and made it easy to follow who was competing and how they were scoring.
The Execution: I designed and built the event's on-screen identity from the ground up: opening titles, stings and transitions to top and tail each session, plus the working furniture a live competition runs on — competitor name supers, lower thirds, stage identifiers and scoring graphics.
Everything had to serve two audiences at once: clean and large enough to read from the back of a venue, and framed to survive the compression and small screens of a livestream.
The Result: One stylish, coherent graphic language across the whole championship, with the in-room screens and the live stream carrying the same look — delivered to a live event schedule, where nothing can run late.
Deliverables: Opening titles, stings and transitions; competitor lower thirds and name supers; full event brand package for in-room screens and livestream.
